Answers to questions you probably wouldn't ask (a bit wordy, but not bombastic):
Who are you?
-
My name is Jonathan S Tomhave, PhD. Among other things, I am as I like to call myself an academic mercenary. Admittedly, this title projects a romantic tone, and perhaps one that is a little more dangerous than what I am more frequently known as. That is, an adjunct, and sometimes identified as an instructor, or lecturer, and once and a great while, a professor.

What is this site all about?
-
It is about creating a space that I can periodically post, write, and share ideas, concepts, things, what have you that I find interesting. With the intent to hopefully, not pigeon hole myself into one particular narrative.
Where is this thing going?
-
Like all new projects, I have the kernel of an idea. Or perhaps, it is more accurate to say I have a fantasy of what I want this thing to go, but I have learned that like any creative sojourn, you must be willing to let it tell you what it wants to be. Really what I am trying to say here is that I really have no idea right now, but that by just working the thing, which might, or more realistically, probably will not go anywhere one has to try out ideas and concepts and see what works.
When will anything of value, interest, or even slightly amusing ever come from this site?
-
Again, that depends on if, or when, and probably more of an if I can come up with something, anything that might pique interest. Not only in any visitors, but also things I want to do.
Why bother?
-
Because at the end of the day, you got to do something. How is this going to be done? Beats me. I think it boils down to trying things out. Not listening to the Hobgoblins of my mind that sometimes whisper, and other times scream in my mind this is stupid, and pointless. With that said, I realize that I am listening to the Hobgoblins already because of what I have previously, and will later, write.

How did come up with Suburb-NDN?

-
I am a citizen of the MHA Nation, also known as the Three Affiliated Tribes of Fort Berthold. My father worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and for his career we moved to Southern California when I was five and I grew up there.
